Hoeven Creates Energy Policy Committee

From new ethanol plants to wind towers and oil rigs North Dakota has seen a lot of growth in the energy field this year Governor Hoeven wants to make sure our developments keep going that s why he has put together a new energy policy committee The group will look at obstacles in growing energy in our state and will also focus on where the best energy opportunities are Shane Goettle Dir ND Commerce We have opportunities to move more oil out of the state more opportunities to develop new products with coal Looking at co2 sequestration which is critical to the further development of coal And we sit on top of And renewable fuels we have tremendous opportunities The committee will be looking at the issue of a shortage of oil field workers as well as transporting energy through transmission lines and oil through pipelines Sen Rich Wardner R Dickinson Transmission is key we have to solve that In my opinion somebody said we can do all these things but if can t get the energy out not do us much good The committee will be developing proposals for the next Legislature It will also be giving suggestions to North Dakota s congressional delegation about possible changes in federal law
