Hemp Lawsuit Thrown Out

Two North Dakota farmers need to go to Congress to get permission to grow hemp That was the ruling of Federal Judge Daniel Hovland who dismissed a lawsuit filed by the two Wayne Hauge and Dave Monson sued to bar the federal government from prosecuting them for growing industrial hemp But Judge Hovland said the two need to take their case directly to lawmakers in Washington Hauge and Monson got state licenses to grow hemp last year but did not get federal permission Hauge who farms near Ray says he s disappointed the lawsuit was dismissed but agrees that Congress needs to decide the question
